Robin Gillanders is well known to Scottish photographers and is a former Reader in Photography at Edinburgh Napier University. He exhibits internationally and has published 5 books including a book on portraiture. He works primarily in B&W, in film formats from 35mm to 10×8 and in 2017 he won the Richard Cowie Scottish Portrait Award. Robin was one of the key photographers exhibited at FLOW Photofest 2017.

Flannery O’Kafka is a member of the collective Wildfires and recently, her work has been included in exhibitions at venues such as: Glasgow Women’s Library,The Pipe Factory, Art Park, House for an Art Lover, and 12 Star Gallery, London. In January 2018, O’Kafka was Artist in Residence at Dubois County Museum, where she also presented the solo exhibition: “You Would Be Home Now If You lived Here”. Her work was shown in 2018 on the FLOW Wall.

The FLOW team are experienced curators and teachers of photography. Collectively they have hosted over 30 exhibitions in the Highlands and run regular portfolio sessions for Highland and Moray based independent photographers.

The review sessions are for committed photographers and photo-based makers / artists at all levels and all ages, who have an interest in developing their work. Your work does not have to be finished or ‘gallery ready’ but you should have a ‘body of work’ you can show which will help the reviewers understand your work and your approach. We would suggest around 10 – 15 images would be suitable, but this is not a ‘rule’.

Work does not have to be mounted or framed and can be presented on your laptop, tablet or as prints.

The Reviewers will be working independently and you can book in to meet up with more than one, so you can book yourself into 3 separate slots.

Bookings should be made by dropping an email to flowphotofest@gmail.com

Please email FLOW Photofest and indicate clearly which Reviewers you would like to meet and you will be allocated a time slot. It is first come, first served.

Each slot will be 20 minutes long and the organisers will create a schedule and you will be informed of your times prior to the day.

We anticipate this being a popular event and we cannot guarantee that there will be places for everyone, so please book in early.

If you are not sure that you ready to show your work yet then have a look at this website – it gives a useful overview of a photography portfolio review session:
